The day of week is also included so you know when a UTC time may be in a different day than your local time. They look like times but it's the hour information that stands out. Since you're primarily concerned with the hour-to-hour translation the hours are presented in a large bold typeface while the minute portion of the times are much smaller and always read '00'. The quality of the presentation was carefully considered to emphasize the most important information and de-emphasize secondary information. The list starts with the current hour at the top. It presents an attractive list of the next 24 hours in your local time zone along with the corresponding UTC time. ![]() A quick glance at the app should tell you how UTC times translates to your local time and vice versa. Regardless which National Weather Service weather map, radar, or satellite picture you view, be sure to first check the time of the image as it will be reported in 24-hour "Z" time.UTC Chart translates between UTC and your local time zone. With the 360° daily rotation of the earth, the sun is moving 15° each hour which leads to the formation of 24 time zones. Today, one can visit the Royal Observatory and straddle this 0° meridian with one foot in each hemisphere. This 0° meridian divides the Eastern from the Western Hemisphere. This was for both for longitude and timekeeping. settled the matter where it was agreed to establish a single "prime" meridian (0° longitude), passing through Greenwich.
